Its been almost a month since i’ve last updated. A lot has gone on since then.
I ended up not going on vacation cause I got offered a job on a film being shot in Columbia titled Saying Goodbye. It was an awesome experience I met and worked with David Insley, the DP for Cry-Baby, Hairspray, The Wire, and tons more check him out at his website to see his work www.daveinsleydp.com. I learned a lot from watching him work. My title was electrician, not the one you are thinking of though, the kind that plugs in lights on a set, cause of the small crew size i also did a lot of grip work too, including dolly grip. I didnt get a pay check from it but i did get 260$ for per diem, 190$ for gas, and im waiting on a small amount as a thank you.
On the film job note i still haven’t gotten paid for The Cannon Street Boys. Which was also a great experience, the DP wasn’t as nice though. Should be soon. Then hopefully ill go to Orlando this time as long as no other film jobs pop up.
Also go to AriScary.com i bought my significant other a website, coolest present ever right? She got me the Wizard of Oz 70th anniversary limited edition box set though, i cant compete with that.
check out behind the scenes pictures here and here.

so ill start this off with my classes:
SOC 101 – Introduction to Sociology (taught by a feminist)
RTV 270 – Media Arts Business Procedures (taught by Brad Jayne)
RTV 101 – Audio Techniques (taught by Glenn Seale)
RTV 144 – Basic Videography (taught by John Barnhardt)
FLM 148 – Basic Editing (taught by John Barnhardt)
so basically its gonna be the easiest semester yet. cause i should have taken most of them my first semester. on a side note though, first semester film students are straight up annoying and have no idea what goes on. i had somewhat of one. but how can you want to enter the film industry and have NO idea. its ridiculous. they all want to direct and have no idea what a director does. its crazy. oh well. i guess its not only the teachers job but my job to educate them since i know whats going on for the most part.
im also working on a script with Patrick McGinn and people like it for the most part. it does have a few problems. im looking for crew. i think i have some of the key positions down. im producer and DP. i also really dont want to direct it. Anthony Cobb is my 1st AC, Justin Howes is my Key Grip, there are two options i have for my gaffer. im really excited and cant wait to shoot it.

you knew this would happen eventually, i have to blog about the new modest mouse ep.
for those of you who dont know modest mouse has been my favorite band since i first heard Shit Luck (iTunes) off the skate video Misled Youth some time in middle school. which is on their best cd The Lonesome Crowded West (iTunes). the last two full length cds has gained them much popularity, which long time users aren’t a fan of (the sound and popularity that is). i can agree with that to an extent, but the new ep has restored my hope in the fact that they are still able to make music like they used to.
The two songs that stick out in my mind when i say this are King Rat (iTunes) and The Whale Song (iTunes). The whole cd is FAR from the new singles that made them big such as Float On and Dashboard. I can recommend this with confidence to anyone who wants to know what modest mouse should sound like. Not to be elitist or anything but if you only like Float On and Dashboard and act surprised when i mention that modest mouse has more than two cds and goes back to 1993, i much rather you just be ignorant that they exist, it’ll make me much more comfortable around you. I still stick with my original promise as well, if i see you at a modest mouse concert and don’t yell fakes (or snakes in some cases) during Trailer Trash (iTunes) ill punch you in the face.
