It was a blast being on set on Angel Camouflaged. I met a bunch of people and a few that are gonna hook me up with jobs in the camera department as a camera pa/intern (such as the 1st AC on Army Wives). One of which offered me some work with him in Wilmington, NC which is awesome. The director Michael Givens is an awesome guy and his kids are way lucky. I have a bunch of good behind the scenes pics here. There are also pics of the wrap party which involved tons of free alcohol and food. I’m glad I choose this as a career to pursue. Much better than paper pushing. It pays well too. I even got my first imdb credit.

wrap on Angel Camouflaged
November 20th, 2009Angel Camouflaged
October 19th, 2009
I got a job on my first feature film. It’s called Angel Camouflaged. It’s starring James Brolin, Dilana Robichaux, and Warrick Grier. Its directed and shot by Michael Givens. I’m a Set PA (but i’m not getting paid so on paper i’m an intern) which means I’m the ADs bitch but luckily they like me. The 1st AD is Jewels Satterfileld who is nice when she can be which is fine cause her job isn’t to be nice. I’ve worked with both the 2nd AD (Ben Hammock) and the 2nd 2nd AD (Jason Scott) on the Cannon Street Boys. So that’s how I got the job on this. I’m excited to see a finished product. It looks really good so far.
I’m also almost done with school. Ill probably continue to go just to earn credits if i want to transfer and get a 4 year degree later. as of now though im pretty happy being on set and 12 hour days aren’t bad when its what you want to do.
the new (school year)
August 29th, 2009so ill start this off with my classes:
SOC 101 – Introduction to Sociology (taught by a feminist)
RTV 270 – Media Arts Business Procedures (taught by Brad Jayne)
RTV 101 – Audio Techniques (taught by Glenn Seale)
RTV 144 – Basic Videography (taught by John Barnhardt)
FLM 148 – Basic Editing (taught by John Barnhardt)
so basically its gonna be the easiest semester yet. cause i should have taken most of them my first semester. on a side note though, first semester film students are straight up annoying and have no idea what goes on. i had somewhat of one. but how can you want to enter the film industry and have NO idea. its ridiculous. they all want to direct and have no idea what a director does. its crazy. oh well. i guess its not only the teachers job but my job to educate them since i know whats going on for the most part.
im also working on a script with Patrick McGinn and people like it for the most part. it does have a few problems. im looking for crew. i think i have some of the key positions down. im producer and DP. i also really dont want to direct it. Anthony Cobb is my 1st AC, Justin Howes is my Key Grip, there are two options i have for my gaffer. im really excited and cant wait to shoot it.
animation, etc
July 29th, 2009
so last night me and justin started work on our claymation set for our animation project. its pretty sick. we get to shoot it on 16mm which is rad. here is a picture of what we have done so far. i know its the sickest hardwood floor ever. we are going to put finish on it and darken it up.
and now the etc part. i still havent gotten paid for cannon st but whatever. i found out about a feature length independent and sent my resume yesterday, i hope i hear back soon. i wanna build my resume bad. also on an unrelated note im still single. any takers?
the cannon street boys (film)
July 15th, 2009so this past week 7/6/2009 to 7/11/2009 i worked as Script Supervisor on a film titled “The Cannon Street Boys”, directed by Jason Scott and produced by Ben Hammock. it was my first paid film job at $85 a day, definitely below the standard pay in film but its great to get paid to be on set. i greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with professionals. all my behind the scenes pictures are online here. so much good has come out of it (experience, a grade, friends, references and so much more). i hope to work with everyone again.
